Skating Through PhotoImpact 5.0
Published in Paperback by East of the Sun Publishing (02 July, 2000)
Author: Stephanie Baker-Thomas
Average review score:

This book is exactly what I need to learn PI5!
Stephanie Baker-Thomas reminds me of one of those favourite teachers from the past. She has the same old-fashioned dedication to help people to learn and understand how much fun learning can be.

She writes very clearly and includes exersises at the end of each chapter. Her book can be also used as a desk reference. The chapters are organized in such way, that makes it easy to find everything. The book also includes a CD with 42 very useful and fun Tutorials.

I find this book is very useful to me. If you love PhotoImpact 5.0, you will love skating through this book with Stephanie Baker-Thomas. I highly recommend her book to anybody who wants to have fun with this great graphic program.

Perplexed to Amazed!
As a digital photographer, electronic stationery and web site designer, I work with many image enhancing programs.

I had PhotoImpact 5.0 on my hard drive for four months without really using it because of the time it takes to learn a new program.

A friend of mine recommended that I take a look at Stephanie's web site. I was so impressed by her site that I puchased "Skating Throught PhotoImapct 5.0".

I found the book to be easy to understand, the example screen shots exactly matching my own (so I knew I was doing it correctly), along with the CD that makes PI fun and my images look great!

It is a welcome addition to the library of any serious artist!

I now used PhotoImpact 5.0 more than any other image enhancing program I own.

Thanks Stephanie for making it so easy!!!!!!!!!

Photoimpact 5 Elegantly Demystified
Ulead's Photoimpact 5 is an extraordinary product. It masquerades as a cheap image editor, whilst in reality packing more power, punch and pizzazz than any other graphics program I've ever owned - yes, including Photoshop. As soon as you start to work with it, you become overawed by its versatility, and terrified that you'll never find your way around the myriad features.

This book is everything you'll ever need to know about using Photoimpact 5. Every feature of the program is meticulously documented (no mean feat!). I liked that there were so many examples and that the illustrations were carefully chosen to demonstrate the PURPOSE behind that function. Put simply, you can tell the author is a psychologist. She anticipates what you'll want to do with this program, so all the examples and tutorials are highly relevant. Additionally, she knows where you'll get stuck and spends time demystifying the few quirks the program has.

The CD of tutorials is worth the book price alone. Work your way through them and you'll be turning out graphics of truly astonishing and professional quality with very little effort.

If, like me, you bought and downloaded your copy of Photoimpact 5 from the web, and got no paper manual, this book is a total Godsend. It's everything I was looking for. Excellent.

The Breach : Inside the Impeachment and Trial of William Jefferson Clinton
Published in Hardcover by Scribner (September, 2000)
Author: Peter Baker
Average review score:

Detailed, Non-Ideological Look at Clinton's Impeachment
This is a very well researched, even-handed study of the entire Clinton impeachment and trial episode. Often, the books examining this topic are clearly ideological (for example, Schippers horribly written, self-serving "Sell Out"). Baker does a great job of providing insight on the various stages of the events that made up this time in our nation's history. He does this by having almost unparalled access to the thoughts and conversations of the major players. For example, what better way to know what various Senators were thinking during the trial than to examine journals and notes belonging to those Senators? Due to his excellent reputation for veracity and fairness, Baker was given access to such sources (e.g., Senator Collins' impeachment diary) and to conversations normally kept private from reporters/researchers. If you are a student of history, of Clinton, or of Congress, this book is a must read. Personally, I've read most of the impeachment books, and this is the best. What is most amazing is the insight into the way the events actually unfolded; the public gets to see (often for the first time) how very differently things could have gone if only one person had done something, or said something, differently. For example, had DeLay decided not to wage his "let's impeach" crusade; had several moderate republicans been approached differently, had Clinton (at several points) shown actual contrition, impeachment and/or a trial may have never occurred. Great book!

Simply the best - book on the Clinton Impeachment
This is the book I hoped would one day be written about Clinton's impeachment, going behind the scenes to tell us what was happening when the cameras were off. I never expected this kind of book would emerge so soon - I figured we'd be stuck with one-sided rants from entrenched individuals like Jeffrey Toobin on one side and David Schippers on the other, for quite a while. Peter Baker does an excellent job of covering the aspect of Clinton's impeachment saga that I was most interested in: the machinations in the House, Senate and White House once the Starr Report was literally dropped off at the House of Representatives up through the saddest example of jury nullification in our times, when the Senate acquitted the impeached 42nd President because they cared more about polls and threats than the facts and the law.

No matter how you felt about Clinton's Impeachment, you will learn a lot from this book. If you were interested in how Clinton's staff felt during this trying time, it's in there. If you were curious about how Democrats in the House and Senate came to the decision to back Clinton, no matter what, it's in there. If you wanted to know how the move to impeach stayed alive despite bumps in the road along the way - such as the midterm elections and Newt Gingrich's resignation - it's in there. If you wondered what it was like for House Managers thrust into a media circus, it's in there.

The Breach will be an excellent source for people studying Clinton's impeachment in the future, but it's also a fun, informative and interesting book for those of us who lived through it. Even if you were glued to the TV the whole time, you'll learn that you missed a lot.

The most significant thing I learned is that Clinton had so many chances to avoid being impeached. The Republican members of the Judiciary Committee were quite reluctant at times. They met with their Democrat counterparts, members of the Clinton defense team and others to find some sort of suitable substitute for impeachment that would withstand constitutional scrutiny yet still have some meaning. These efforts were fruitless mainly because President Clinton and his representatives chose to go to political war rather than accept an iota of responsibility.

In the end, perhaps Clinton should be grateful. If not for the impeachment, his presidency would be a lot like the 90's sitcom Seinfeld: about nothing. For the President who searched like crazy for a legacy, this is a big part of it. And Peter Baker has done an excellent job. This is a substantive must-read book for anyone interested in this episode.

A Piece of History
Baker does an exceptional job of chronicling one of the most explosive scandals in Presidential history. His account is thorough and reasoned, and his prose flows like a good novel.

For all of us who followed the story on the evening news, it's interesting to see the real story behind the headlines, especially how slyly the Democrats orchestrated the entire impeachment process in their favor. In fact, I was astounded to read how the Republicans tried, more or less in earnest, to resolve the matter in a non-partisan fashion while the Democrats did everything in their power to polarize the issue and then play themselves as the victims of partisan politics--"win by losing", as Gephart aptly put it. Interesting indeed . . . Also of note is Baker's observations on President Clinton, how he was unable to admit he did anything wrong, how his own party, Cabinet and closest aides believed he deliberately lied under oath, how difficult it was for those who stood up for him to admit they had been had . . . Fascinating!

Overall, a very well-documented, even-handed book by Baker. Well worth the read.

I absolutely love this book. I think it's the best book for pagan parents. Great stories and crafts for each Sabbat. Discusses the elements, ritual with children, rites of passage, the esbats. You won't be disappointed.

One of the Best Pagan Family books I have ever read
I was very impressed with the collection of stories, songs, chants, activites, crafts, and recipies that the authors compiled here in this book. If you are Pagan and have children, this is a must. It is also useful for coven activities as well. I plan on adapting some of the stories for skits in my coven's rituals. Thanks and hats off to the authors!

The Survivors Club
Published in Audio Cassette by Random House (Audio) (21 May, 2002)
Authors: Lisa Gardner and Becky Ann Baker
Average review score:

An exciting ride...if not wildly original
Reading this book was a good change of pace, I had just finished another thriller (oh...Vince Flynn, please learn to write!) with some of the worse dialogue I had read outside of my own writing (and this indeed bad). Anyway, this is was pleasure in that is was nicely written and the characters were finely drawn. The book is a bit of Single White Female (as a character in the book says), a bit of Chinatown, a bit of The Accused, and a bit of any movie that has a man in prison trying to drive his favorite cop crazy. The ending was a bit out there (as so many in this genre are), but what sets this book apart is the humanity. These are characters, all of them except maybe Fitz, who have heavy secrets dragging them down. They are all survivors (except Eddie Como) and Gardner deals with them fairly and honestly. Some of the book is hard to read as any good crime story should be, but in the end, there is hope.

Get Ready to be Entertained!
When I read, I read strictly for entertainment. I want to be drawn into the plot and entertained by the characters. Lisa Gardner didn't draw me into the plot of The Survivors Club-she yanked me into it head first! From page one to the end, the suspense never lets up. I didn't think Ms. Gardner could top her last book, boy was I wrong.

The story opens with two men trying to plot the perfect brutal assault crimes without getting caught. They discuss theories and discard methods that haven't worked. Let me tell you it's unnerving to read something discussed so casually. Cut to the courthouse where a man is set to go on trial for brutally assaulting and raping three women and one who didn't survive the nightmare. Up on the rooftop lies an assassin waiting for the perfect shot to take the man out. The moment arrives, he fires, escapes to his awaiting car only blocks away. He starts the engine, boom-his car explodes. Meanwhile back on the job for his first day after an eighteen-month medical leave is a state policeman. He had witnessed the agonizing death of his wife while taking down the man known as the "Candy Man", a pedophile who killed ten small children and just happened to be the his next door neighbor. Thrown into the mix is three women who form the Survivors Club to deal with the trauma they have each went through. Three women, who come from different walks in life, with nothing in common other than they have survived every woman's worst nightmare. This is pretty intense stuff especially when you consider it's just the first three chapters of the book. But hey, Ms. Gardner doesn't let up there, chapter after chapter throws new curves that keeps this story as fresh and compelling as the first three chapters.

This book was mesmerizing. I'm sure there will be those out there who will criticize the fact that there was no romance in the book, or those who will think Ms. Gardner strayed into the unbelievable area on DNA and police procedures. But for someone who reads strictly for entertainment, this book has it all. Grab a copy and settle down for a fascinating journey with The Survivors Club. You won't be sorry.

Absolutely gripping!
When I picked up this book, I should have known better. I have never been able to read Lisa Gardner's books without putting it down ~~ and this book is no exception!

The book centers around a state detective hot on the trail of a double murder. Griffin had just returned to work after a bereavement leave ~~ he had just lost his wife to cancer ~~ only on the day he arrives to work, an accused serial rapist, who was on his way to court for the first day of trial, was shot to death by a sniper. Then a few blocks away, the sniper was blown up as he entered his car. The suspicions soon focused on the three "survivors" ~~ three women who were raped by the accused serial rapist, Eddie. And that was just the first chapter.

This book will be hard to put down ~~ Gardner strings you along with tempting bits every chapter ~~ and no matter what you do, you can't resist it. She delves into the psychological aspects of the rape victims as well into Griffin's mindset as he tracks down the mystery of the rapists and murders. You find yourself relating to the darker sides of the story and you really shouldn't read this alone at night ~~ it will spook you! She delivers this book with a fast-paced, page-turner story ~~ and I highly recommend this book for everyone's summer reading. It's fabalous and she's also a great writer to boost. You can't beat this one!

The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet: Plus Dr. Tarnower's Lifetime Keep-Slim Program
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Bantam Books (February, 1995)
Authors: Herman, Md. Tarnower and Samm Sinclair Baker
Average review score:

Hard to believe, but it really does work!
If anyone is a skeptic of anything quick, easy and effortless when it comes down to losing weight, "it's gotta be me". This book, however, makes the two week plan a breeze to follow, offering options for four variations to the basic plan. I went on the traditional two week plan and lost exactly 20 pounds, as promised. The only thing I wish this book included was sample plans for the follow-up Keep Trim eating weeks. I felt safer when I was told exactly when and what to eat. I looked online and found a support group that was very helpful to chat and share ideas with, at (url). Reading the book is an important part of the process. I highly recommend that anyone interested in jump starting their metabolism and learning balanced nutrition and portion control should order this book.

The book is lame, but the diet is great!
I know of ppl who have had great success with this diet. I have taken off about 20 pounds, and I could have taken off much much more if I stuck with the diet religiously.
This is definately a way of eating that I could feel comfortable with for a lifetime. Whats great about it is that it isn't overly restricting like the Atkins diet- therefore I don't have the crazy urge to binge on sugars unnecessarily... Whats even better is that I CAN allow myself to a treat once in a while with little or no consequences (weight gain), and in the cases where I do overdo it and eat too much junk, I can quickly take the weight off the very next day :)
Now, as far as the book goes, it isn't as entertaining and convincing as I'd like a diet/weight loss book to be. Instead, check out some support groups for the SMD on Yahoo Clubs.

My miracle diet
I love this diet! I have 3 small children and no time to exercise. My mother gave me a copy of this book 12 years ago to remove weight that had piled on in Europe. It worked great and now that I am done breastfeeding my 3rd child, I plan on using this to get off the rest of my pregnancy weight, I have already lost 16 lbs. I find the menus to be simple to follow and easy to prepare. I grill all my meats so that they have a great flavour and lose the excess fat. I really love GOOD Food so I do have to discipline myself. This diet is great for you if you have little time for yourself and a spouse in grad school who's not about. Plus, I can feed it to my children with little complaint. Just add some homebaked Scarsdale Protein bread (which I made in my machine)or a potato with butter and they'll gobble up the rest. Also use good lettuce like romaine and fresh tomatoes. Dress up the salads with Balsamic vinegar and use pink grapefruits as opposed to plain. I have also noticed you can use cucumber slices as a snack as well. I snack on Veggies all day and still lose at least a pound a day! This diet is much better than Atkins.

The Odyssey
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday (September, 1988)
Authors: Robin Lister, Alan Baker, Homer Odyssey, and Homer
Average review score:

Read the Odyssey!!
I'm 14, live in England and I'm studying the Odyssey for my GCSE in Classical Civilisation, and its a fantastic book. It's amazing to think that this whole story was once MEMORISED by Homer, and because it was so wonderful it was finally written down and has survived for years and years! The Odyssey is a great story because: although it's a mythical tale, Homer tells it with such reality and vivid description that you almost believe it's real, it's filled with excitement, twists and turns, with Odysseus always just about managing to escape from trouble! The intriging mythical creatures are fascinating, full of character and personality - i particularly like Polyphemus the Cyclops and also Athena, the wise goddess. that's another cool thing about the Odyssey - all of the ancient Greek names!! Although the Odyssey is a challenging book to read, due to the complicated people and place names, the long family histories and references to Greek mythology, and the repetitive narration, I would recommend it to anyone. Whether or not you want to analyse it in detail (as I have to for my exam!) or just read it and it enjoy it, everyone should read the Odyssey at least once! I find that each time I read it, I pick up something new, and it gets easier to understand and quicker to read. Just give it a try, it is a classics book, and well worth the effort, although it is challenging. I'm sure that anyone who is interested in mythology, or just adventure stories in general, something in the Odyssey will appeal to you. So read it!!!

The Odyssey is one of the greatest stories ever told.
The story of The Odyssey is one of the grestest stories ever told. Everytime I read it, I fall in love with the characters. I love the way Mr. Fitzgerald translates the book. He does a masterful job of describing the scene, and uses words to fully portray what is going on, and how the characters feel. I'm reading a version translated by someone else, and it feels "watered down." It's almost too easy to read. Fitzgerald doesn't simplify it to the point where something is lost. I would recommend this book to anyone. In echoing the words of people who have commented before me, I thought the Odyssey would be boring, but it truly is an awesome book and story.

Epic Journey
The Odyssey was probably the best book I have ever read. I first read this epic poem as a freshman in high school, and have read it many times after that. The epic journey by Homer captures the journey through life and its obstacles. Odysseus is main character that must journey to find his way home after the victorious battle of Troy. Odysseus has to overcome many obstacles that lie in his path to return home.

In life we also face obstacles that limit our ability. To overcome each different obstacle, one must use strength, mind, and perseverance to move on and succeed in life.

Odysseus overcame these obstacles by problem solving and thinking ahead. The Odyssey really captures the essences of life lessons through out time. The book was excellent. I mean where else can you find bloody battles, passionate love scenes, giant maelstroms, and the occasional six-headed monster.

I recommend this book to any reader, whether in High School, College, or just the average reader. The Odyssey is a definite classic.

Alternity: Player's Handbook
Published in Hardcover by Wizards of the Coast (April, 1998)
Authors: Bill Slavicsek and Richard Baker
Average review score:

A terrific effort by TSR
As a veteran gamer who probably has more gaming material than should be healthy, I'm pleased to see TSR introduce the very promising Alternity game. This book is for players and is the companion volume to the Alternity Gamemasters Guide.

The rules are explained simply and concisely with all the tables and charts well organized and easy to find. More importantly, unlike much of the game products out there, this book is vividly written with inspiration and flair, bringing alive the technology, citizens, and cultures of the setting. All this is finished off by quality art as well. This terrific book prompted me to add the Alternity game to my gaming cabinet. If I can find any fault at all, it is that some sections like equipment and starships are a little brief - I suppose the publishers wanted to leave room for future supplements (what else is new?). A fine effort, nonetheless.

Hopefully this will jump start the Sci Fi gaming genre
I was very impressed with this system. I was expecting some rehash or new twist on some old rules system, but the one in Alternity is new and very impressive.

Pros: The looseness of the system, in more ways than one. Its capable of being played any time from now to the far future (actually you could even play it from any point in human history too, they have equipment for primitive civilizations). Characters are freeform too. When I first saw the 'professions' that were presented I thought they were remakes of AD&D classes, but they're not, you're allowed a lot of control, with minimal interference from the rules. The system manages to be tight though, despite its genericness.

Cons: I don't like the fact that they presented alien races for us in the player's handbook. Though its easy enough to make new ones, the ones they present are kind of odd. Also, if you look at the rules for weapons and starship/drive technology, they present very strict types, ands not the kinds I personally like. The good news is you can fix these things with a minimum of work. So, if you are looking for a new RPG, or the thing I expect will boost attention in Sci Fi RPGs, I recommend this book.

Finally a Decent Sci-Fi Role Playing Game!
In my opinion this is the finest product TSR has ever released. The rules are simple and easy to learn, plus the game is more open to new ideas and additions from players then past TSR products. The most promising freature is the ability to play in so many different time setting ranging from stone age to infinity! This game system is a definite must have for anybody who has tried other Sci-fi games and was disappointed.

Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics (Baker Reference Library)
Published in Hardcover by Baker Book House (February, 1999)
Author: Norman L. Geisler
Average review score:

Reference for seekers
My review comes perhaps from a slightly different point of view. I didn't get this book to defend any beliefs, I got it mostly to help me evaluate, to learn about the key answers that christian apologists are giving to historical, scientific and philosophical challenges. I'd say that this encyclopedia has considerable value for anyone looking into Christianity and trying to test its validity mainly from a rational approach.
No matter if you are an atheist, agnostic or a follower of any religion. No matter where you currently stand - If you need a summarized collection of christian apologetics, perhaps
even with a with bit of usefulness as a dictionary into general theological themes, then you should try Geisler's compilation.

Many contemporary issues and minds are covered, but the old key questions and subjects are often explored with more detail. I found the book lacking consistency, some areas seeming very
academic and hard to digest, while others appeared to lack depth, but perhaps some of that is caused by my own current limitations at this level of knowledge.

A small problem in this edition annoyed me - There is no decent index of articles. This book is about 800 pages, and all you get is a list of the included articles at the end (With a few mistakes but no indication of pages). Where are the page numbers? An alphabetical list without the page numbers it utterly useless in a fat reference book. Perhaps Baker expected us write each page number on the article index as we read... :-)

A "Must-Have" for Every Christian's Library!
Does God exist? Is the Bible, rather than the Koran or the Book of Mormon, the Word of God? Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Is Jesus God in the flesh? These are just a few of the questions addressed in Baker's Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics. This book is undoubtedly one of the most important Christian reference books to be published in many, many years. As another reviewer said, this is Dr. Geisler's magnum opus. He has left no stone unturned in his presentation of the philosophical, theological, and historical evidence that proves the historic Christian Faith as Truth. As a Christian, I am very interested in presenting the truth of the Christian Faith to those who are searching for truth. Dr. Geisler has written an excellent resource that puts the answers right at my fingertips! If you buy only one book for your library this year, this, without question, must be the one! No Christian should be without this book. J. M. Spencer

The Whole Kit & Caboodle
This book covers every subject dealing with apologetics that I could ever imagine: history of, Biblical documents, brief biographies & summaries of Christian apologists and atheist critics, works of philosophers (Hume, Kant, etc), science & the Bible, alleged biblical errors, cults, other religions, historicity of the the Bible, relationship of faith & reason, etc.

The articles are presented in alphabetical order with plenty of cross references to catch related articles. There is an article index at the back of the book. There is also an index of biblical & apocraphyl scriptures used and on what page these verses are mentioned.

Articles range from a few paragraphs to several pages. However, depending on the topic of interest, with related articles a person would have a chapter's worth of material. Each article ends with a list of sources for that article. The bibliography for this book is very large. Dr. Geisler has gathered and summarized a vast amount of material.

Although this book is mainly a reference book, it is organized & written in a fashion that one could easily get as much from this as if reading a standard book on apologetics... actually more so.

I highly recommend this book to pastors, youth leaders, seminary students, and Christians who want to learn about & defend the Christian faith.

Bread Alone
Published in Hardcover by William Morrow (June, 2001)
Author: Judith Ryan Hendricks
Average review score:

Like good bread, this book needed a little more proofing...
Bread is the perfect metaphor for love. It requires patience to allow it to develop slowly and bring out its true flavor and richness. I wish that Judith Hendricks would have allowed her prose to develop a little longer and bring out a better flavor for her novel. It is the story of a woman recovering from the grief of a bad marriage and how her life is redeemed through baking, time spent with her best friend, and a man she meets at the neighborhood bar. My other complaint is about the title, and although Hendricks acknowledges Daniel Leader (who wrote a book with the same title - a book, by the way, that is the absolute best bread book on the market.)I do wish she would have come up with a different title for her work. If you are going through the end of a relationship, this quick light read, just like a simple loaf of bread, will nourish and sustain you for another day.

A wonderful weekend book
This is one of the few books I've read that actually delivers more than the jacket promises. From the blurb, I thought I'd get one of those light self-discovery-and-a-dash-of-romance books that seem to be so popular right now - which was all right with me. I just wanted a getaway book for the weekend. From the first paragraph, the quality of writing told me I was in for something better. Hendricks' evocative style of writing made me long for Seattle, for a simpler life, and it's really put me in the mood to BAKE BREAD! (In fact, I was hoping to read a review that told me how the bread recipes actually come out.) My only quibble was that the Toulouse flashbacks ceased rather abruptly, making me wish for more substantial closure on the Jean Marc story. But that's a small one. I finished the book, closed it, and said to the cover, "What a lovely, lovely, lovely story." A very satisfying read.

A stellar debut!

I'm glad this little book found me, as I was hungry to read something of quality.

Wynter Morrison is a woman adrift. She's been cut loose from her secure mooring by a wayward husband (a jerk of the first water) and she's unsure what comes next. Forced from her home in an upscale LA neighborhood, Wynter finds herself on a plane to Seattle to visit her childhood friend, CM.

On her trip, Wynter discovers a small neighborhood bakery complete with an odd cast of characters. When the bottom drops out from her LA world, she relocates to Seattle and starts to work at the bakery. The routine of bread making in the middle of the night soothes her and gives her direction.

It's been a long time since I've read such a well crafted first novel. I loved the characters...flaws and all...and I loved Hendricks' detailed description of the process of bread making...

This is an author to watch...

Enjoy!

Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible, New American Standard Bible, Leather, Bonded Burgandy
Published in Leather Bound by AMG Publishers (September, 1998)
Authors: Spiros Zodhiates, Warren Baker, and Joel Kletzing
Average review score:

NASB Key Word Study Bible
Let me begin this review by stating that I'm reviewing the NASB version of this study bible. I have also used an older version of this bible in the KJV, but my comments will be directed to the NASB edition. I recently acquired one of these bibles and it has truly been useful to me in my studies. You must realize that although our translations are good (the NASB being an excellent example) they are only efforts at translation. THEY ARE NOT PERFECT! The only way to truly read the unflawed word of God is to read it in the original language. Unless you're a scholar this might be impossible. This bible makes that a reality! Did you know that there are four different greek words that are translated "love" in the New Testament? If you didn't know that you might apply the same meaning to "love" everywhere it occurs. This does not allow you to reach the truest meaning of some passages. This bible allows you to know what the original language said, so that you can compare alternate translations with what is actually written. It also gives insight to the different clauses used in greek and how they compare to english clauses. It has very extensive cross references and complete Hebrew and Greek dictionaries (both tied to Strong's numbering system) in the back. Additionally, it has a complete set of lexical aids tied to many of the Strong numbers, and the complete NASB concordance. In short, this is a study bible for the serious student who wishes to unlock the meaning of scriptures by way of the original language. If you're looking for more general study with application notes, then you would probably be happier with the NASB study bible (see my review) or a Life Application Bible. Supplementary, it doesn't include the 1995 update to the NASB text. I really enjoy mine, but I don't used it exclusively for my study.

Excellant Source for the serious Bible Student
Of all the Bibles I own, this is definately my favorite. It contains the entire Hebrew and Greek dictionaries with reference numbers embeded into the text for quick look up. In addition, there are complete sections of Lexical Aids to both the Old and New Testaments. There are scripture cross references and non-denominational commentaries throughout. When carrying this Bible you have a complete Bible Study and reference library at your fingertips.

Great study Bible!
When I say "Great study Bible!", I mean "study!" It has some study notes, but that is not what this Bible is about. This Bible makes it easier than ever to study the meaning of the original languages behind the translation. As the NASB is probably the most accurate translation available, now you have tools to dig even deeper. Almost every word in this Bible has its corresponding Strong's number next to it, and the Strong's information can be found in the back. You can also find Spiros Zidhiates' Hebrew and Greek definitions in the back by using the same Strong's numbers. If you are serious about Bible study, and not just to read other people's notes on passages, then this is the Bible you want.
